I believe God exists within the interactions between opposites, and if holy figures have a form, they are not necessarily beautiful. By working from dark to light - from black to white - my subjects are erased, filled-in, and worked into existence. I believe the fragments of figures (eyes, a mouth, a grin) are tangible and real: the images, and therefore the subjects, exist because you are observing them. My drawings are the creation of inhabited spaces, the evaluation of faith in both the holy and the haunted.
